A private, non-profit public policy research institute which is concerned with innovative approaches to military strategic issues, particularly where the US is concerned. The website is an outstanding resource which provides access to many well-researched and highly informative papers, essays and other materials dealing with military strategy, planning and spending.
Center for Strategic Decision Research (CSDR) (www.csdr.org)
US research institute which organizes the annual International Workshop on Global Security. The website has complete transcripts for these events which provide a valuable means of following the military affairs of NATO as described by its most important political and military leaders.
The Dupuy Institute (www.dupuyinstitute.org)
Private US research organization founded by the late Colonel Trevor N. Dupuy concerned with the analysis of warfare, particularly modern ground warfare. In its work it emphasizes the importance of both studying intangible aspects of military capability and systematically using quantitative historical data in order to explain or predict combat outcomes. The website has many excellent analytical and fact-filled reports and articles.

NATO Parliamentary Assembly (www.nato-pa.int)
An organization of legislators from NATO members. The website provides access to many highly informative committee reports on a wide range of issues of interest to the alliance. These reports are an excellent starting point for researchers wanting to familiarize themselves with essential facts and with official positions within the alliance.
NGO Committee on Disarmament, Peace and Security (disarm.igc.org)
UN organization which works with NGOs to promote the elimination of NBC weapons, reduction of military forces and resolution of conflicts. The website has some informative papers and background material on these and related topics.
PfP Consortium of Defense Academies and Security Studies Institutes (www.pfpconsortium.org)
An initiative of NATO’s Partnership for Peace. The site’s archives of the Connections quarterly journal provide access to many expert articles relating to military strategic issues of interest to NATO and non-NATO Europe.

Organization dedicated to facilitating non-proliferation and nuclear disarmament efforts. The website is an outstanding collection of informative reports, links and other resources regarding NBC weapons as well as related issues such as US ABM development. It is a good first stop for most anyone researching these topics.

Organization which seeks the abolition of nuclear weapons.
Arms Control Association (www.armscontrol.org)
This US-based non-partisan organization seeks to promote effective arms control policies. Through its magazine, Arms Control Today, and other programs, it provides authoritative information, analysis and commentary on WMD-related issues, particularly on nuclear weapons and their proliferation. The website is an outstanding resource for articles, links and other relevant material; it includes reprints of, and an extensive archive for, Arms Control Today.

Private organization concerned with WMD proliferation. Its website provides a lot of valuable information, much of it provided by the Center for Nonproliferation Studies, MIIS.
Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (www.opcw.org)
Organization responsible for implementing the Chemical Weapons Convention.
Programme for Promoting Nuclear Non-Proliferation (PPNN) (www.ppnn.soton.ac.uk)
Has a considerable amount of material pertaining to non-proliferation efforts, though much of it is dated. There is detailed examination of the NPT and its review process through about 2004.
